Always a good night, some old “classics” as well as some up and coming talent and international acts. Oh and cheap booze!!

On Friday and Saturday night from 8.00pm The Classic is showcasing ten bright new comedy talents that they pick as ones to watch in 2013. The Classic is an excellent venue for a rip-roaring night out, with plush seats, nice drinks and a cozy atmosphere - don’t forget: if you sit in the front, you’re fair game!

I went to my first comedy gig here and really enjoyed my night. The place is really relaxed so our group all grabbed a few drinks from the bar then enjoyed the show. For people who are just up and coming in the comedy scene they were really good and had us all laughing the whole night, definitely worth the $5 entry we spent. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit different, it beats your usual night out to the movies and you have the option of heading out into the rest of town after.

You defiantly have to experience Brendon in person to enjoy live comedy at it’s best. Such a cool sense of humor and leaves you feeling like life is a laugh and a half. Once you have experienced him it’s hard to resist his wonderful sense of humor :-)

Went to the comedy festival and was entertained to the max by Brendon Lovegrove. Such a talented comedian that left is leaving on a natural High. Back to see him again tomorrow night and looking forward to introducing my friend to one of New Zealand’s most talented comedian’s. Go Brendon, you rock!!!!

Such a nice feeling to laugh, some very talented people out there!!

You can get in for a handful of peanuts and forget the outside exists for a decent couple of hours of laughter.  I've been a few times (the first with broken bones that were aching horribly from laughing by the end).  My particular favourite night s the 'fresh' night where they have inexperienced performers and often first-timers up.  Some are tragic (which is funny in itself) and some are diamonds in the rough.

I went along last night to see about ten comedians try out seven minutes of new stuff. Some of these guys are pros you'll pay an awful lot more to see on other nights or in other venues. And at $12 you're pretty much guaranteed to get value for money. Last night was exceptional though. Every single comedian was hilarious, the venue was packed with an audience in great form and it was about three hours of solid, new comedy. Brilliant! If you like your comedy squeaky clean or your surrounds super salubrious this is probably not the night or venue for you. But for anyone else, this may be the best-value night's entertainment in Auckland town.

It’s iconic! Every comedian worth his salt has performed there. Way too small though but great grungy atmosphere. Good location and heaps of sweet shows.
