The Flames Bar & Grill

Friendly staff and top quality meals appear as a trademark for The Flames. Scotch Fillet was my choice, gorgeous dish presentation suggesting different textures and flavours, with a perfect tender taste. Feeling tempted by the Passion Cheesecake, I will have to come back and leave a little room to taste it next time.

Went out for dessert night with the family the other day. The kids really enjoyed the chocolate brownie, it was crisp on the outside but moist on the inside. My coffee-addict of a husband loved the affogato, while the tea-loving me much preferred their tiramisu. We’ll definitely be back to try the mains next time round.

Friendly people and nice food! Tried the Waikato Chief pizza and it was delicious. The other half tried the scotch fillet and said it ticked all boxes. Particularly enjoyed the staff always had a smile on, it was welcoming and certainly appreciated.

The food was amazing, the Scotch Fillet was cooked to perfection. Service with a smile and an atmosphere that made for an awesome dining experience. Can't wait to come back.

Went there while on a road trip, a nice upgrade in the quality of life after spending 5 hours in a stuffy car! Excellent food, I halved a pizza with my mate and we demolished that bad boy as quickly as it was given to us. Will definately come back next time we are in the area!

great staff and excellent food ,had the scallop waves and stuffed chicken and found to be top quality. this place has great ambience, only thing letting it down is can be very hard to find tucked behind cullens restaurant

As a vegetarian I always like to check out new restaurants to see what they have to offer. I had the wood-fired veggie patch pizza and it was so good. Cheese cheese cheese and yummy fresh vegetables at a reasonable price. Staff were great will definitely be coming back soon.

My partner and I stopped here en route to Auckland – both got the burgers in the mains menu – thoroughly enjoyed them. My boyfriend is quite particular about his beef patties and ordered the Grandfather Burger, he was stoked. It’s a substantial piece of beef. Good serving size and still affordable for a quality meal with great service. Staff were attentive and quick on their feet, we will be back.

I had to get the Affogata for dessert after I smelt a rich, dark waft of the coffee rush past me as the dish was delivered to another patron. It was as rich and bitter like I had hoped for. Also, the caffeine made me extremely productive with work later that evening so that was a plus too.
