Went to the Fridge with a large group for Sunday brunch (15 people) and they were one of the only cafes in Auckland willing to let us make a booking at that time of day. We had a lovely big table where we didn't distrub other patrons, and all had a great time. The staff were prompt in taking drinks orders and the food was delivered in a small window of time so we were all more or less eating together which was impressive! Great coffee and food too :)
The Fridge is a Kingsland institution that never lets you down (unlike the parking in this suburb!). The cabinet food is always enticing and the range of wraps, salads and pies are fantastic. Only thing is that the Fridge has probably priced itself too high compared to the likes of Ripe which is only 5 minutes drive away with the same food style, same clientele, but a dollar or two less.
a lovely place to meet up with a friend. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. I wasn't overwhelmed by the choices of food, and would have got just a standard roast vege and feta panini or something similar (but they didn't, and I couldn't quite handle paying that much for a pie) so I went for something sweet and tried a few things included the ginger and pear cake/ dessert. Very good! Highly recommended. Will be going back.
