Great :)

The Fridge in Kingsland is definitely one of the best cafes Kingsland has to offer.  Once inside what from the street seems like a small cafe, and after making your choice from the hugely stocked counter or vast wall menu, The Fridge opens out into various dining areas that definitely make it unique. When sunny, the back deck area is a great place to while away a few hours over some delicious coffee and food and the indoor areas are just as nice as well. The Fridge has some amazing house made pies - some of the best around by far and everything else in their cabinet is just so fresh and appetizing - it's always hard to make a choice!

Superb :)

The Fridge appears to be the hip place to go to 'see and be seen' in Kingsland.  Packed to the rafters; the counter was 10 people deep, the courtyard was almost full and the indoor seating area wasn't far off either.  This is quite similar to the parking situation on the high street. I didn't spy any entertainment/magazines/kids toys etc. on show, but this may have been because I was busy dodging bodies and searching for somewhere to sit.  The menu was pretty average but the number of dishes on offer at the deli counter was great.   The Fridge is child friendly but not pet friendly.

The Fridge has been a mainstay of the Kingsland café scene since … well … since Kingsland had a café scene. Seems like they’ve recently expanded into the space next door, creating a child-friendly space that doesn’t require you climbing down a steep flight of stairs to get to the outside dining area. Built around a bunch of different spaces, and full of authentic vintage New Zealand furniture, The Fridge is a rambling place, with a wide variety of cabinet food and cooked items for all tastes and price ranges. Arriving just after 9am, assuming the local hipsters would still be safely ensconced in bed, we found the café already bustling. And rightly so – in a neighbourhood chock full of great cafes (Crucial Traders, Shaky Isles, Roasted Addiqtion etc.) The Fridge is a solid bet for a great breakfast or lunch, with consistently great food, excellent coffee and friendly service.

Back again!! All of the food looks amazing which makes it hard to actually pick just ONE particular thing :) the chicken and bacon wrap is great, tasty (and large!) but the side Chicken Vietnamese salad was AMAZING! We took someone who was visiting from Chch - they were most impressed!!

You may think $7 is a bit much for pie, but one bite n your reservations are gone! best $$ spent on a pie well worth it! I don’t normally eat pies but if I ever crave one on a naughty day this is where I head :)

Good :)

Really good food and huge selection. Great coffee and pretty top service. Only thing not so awesome is the rooms are a bit noisy and you can't really hear the music. I think the downstairs part would have a better atmosphere. Always go here for brunch and it's pretty well priced compared with others in Kingsland

The cabinet food at the fridge is simply wonderful. There is a wide variety of foodstuffs here. Personally, I like the sandwiches very much. They are choc full of delicious ingredients. The decor is very fresh, and the location is lovely on a sunny day. The perfect place for that first date.
