I can't describe how delicious the eggs benedict at the fridge are. The potato/hash cake that the eggs sit on is amazing! I often struggle to finish my meal, so I could suggest that they are slightly downsized, but it's just too nice to leave anything behind. The staff are lovely and seem always bubbly and cheerful regardless of how busy or run off their feet they are. I particularly like the fridge because although it's always busy, a seat outside is always available. I can't fault The Fridge, it's the best :)
Probably my favorite thing about the fridge is being able to mix and match so many different brunch items with a variety of delicious salads. They also have an extensive blackboard menu for those that prefer the more traditional fare. Although the cafe can be extremely busy (most of the time it seems), the staff are very friendly and helpful, cheerfully correcting orders and producing extra utensils etc. It used to be difficult to find a seat given the sheer number of people there, but The Fridge has recently undergone a massive expansion of their indoor and outdoor areas (double the size!), which leaves plenty of seating options and good private space for each table. Hit it!
My favourite thing about The Fridge is the awesome selection of cabinet food. There are pies, salads, wraps, sandwiches etc and they're all good so coming here means getting to try out new things each time. The creamy vegetarian pie is amazing, as are the meat pies. The wraps are yummy too, though I found the falafel so spicy that I couldn't eat it. I like the various seating options both inside and outside and the general atmosphere here though it can be a bit hectic on Saturday lunchtime.
The Fridge is very reliable on delicious food but never reliable on a seat. It is very busy, but it is so great when you can catch it on a quiet moment - get a table with a paper and have a relaxing lunch. The staff are very friendly despite working like crazy! It is an atmosphere that could be very chaotic but they make it work. The cabinet food is great - lots of vegetarian food, fantastic, interesting salads and lots of yum sweet morsels to choose from. Of course, The Fridge is famous for the pies and they are AMAZING! Highly, highly recommended.
