Experience excellent cuisine, fantastic atmosphere & the roaring open fire in this beautiful historic building. The original Methven Post Office was converted into The Last Post 16 years ago & has recently had an internal revamp to provide a contemporary and exciting place to spend your evening - whether enjoying the superb cuisine or just relaxing with a drink on the sofas.

Our menu is mainly modern kiwi style, with some European and Asian influence in the mix – our range of dishes and prices ensure that there is something for everyone.

For delicious and warming cuisine, a nice atmosphere and ridiculously good open fire, this is the place to hang over winter. Originally the Methven Post Office, The Last Post has character, style and history. Woop!

    Set in the beautiful historic Post Office building, The Last Post Cafe is a true delight and a must-visit in Methven. With a seasonal menu and fresh produce, the food is delicious and perfectly complemented by a great wine list. The relaxing atmosphere and friendly service make it a lovely place to unwind next to the open fire after a busy day on the mountain.
