We to the Raft today as a family for lunch. A bottle of water was brought to our table with four glasses. It wasn't until we had started drinking the water that we realized two of the glasses had dirty mouth marks and lipstick on them! We notified the waitress only to be told "Oh yeah, that happens sometimes". I couldn't believe it! It happens sometimes? Do they not understand the hygiene issues here? We were not offered clean glasses, WE had to get up and get clean glasses ourselves. After we had finished our lunch we asked to see the manager for an explanation as the why we were provided used dirty glasses. We were told "The manager is not here". We then asked to see whoever was in charge. Admittedly by this time it was getting quite frustrating. We were told the person in charge would come out and see us in a minute. So we waited ... 5 minutes ..... 10 minutes ,,,, 15 minutes .... 20 minutes. By now I was getting annoyed and still no one came to talk to us. When we asked the waitress who told us someone would be out to see us in a minute what was going on we were told "Oh, they are too busy to come and see you because they are making coffee, you will need to go inside and see them". Seriously? Although the food was good I can say from this experience that the staff on this occasion were clueless when it comes to customer service. I guess giving glasses to customers with previous customers mouth marks and lipstick on them is acceptable.
I don't really know where to start with this place... The Raft is amazing and everything they do is great –I know that sounds gushingly superfluous– but it's true! The food is so tasty, and they do an awesome pizza night (and pizza is the key to my heart), also their coffee is top-notch, Just check out their extensive menu and you'll see; from brunch right through to dessert, it's all there.
