If England's your team then the Shakespeare is the place to watch World Cup Football. It is a great traditional English Pub and you can't go wrong if you want to watch an England game here. Come hungry and thirsty!

I came here for some leaving drinks for a friend who often frequents this place for after work drinks. It was my first time here and I thought it was a really great little venue. It has the usual delicious pub food served like fish and chips etc, sadly I didn’t get anything though as this night had a strict drinks only regime. The atmosphere in here is really chilled out then as the night progresses and the drinks tallies are stacking up you are finding your voice level getting higher and higher to match every other drunk patron. Standard bar experience! Great place.

The Shakespeare is one of Auckland's oldest pubs, and has been around on the corner of Wyndham and Albert Streets for over 100 years. As with a lot of ye olde pubs back in the mother country, the Shakespeare makes its own beer and offers rooms to rent at reasonable prices. This is a great place to come to catch the rugby - especially when it's one of the British sides playing. Be warned - it can get busy!

About as old as bars get in Auckland and an integral part of the journalistic history of Auckland. Good beer as well :)

The Shakespeare holds a lot of old charm. Always a good night here

Good beer when we were there last time, not mind blowing beer, but nice tasty microbrews. Good music too.

Bought a burger and drinks deal online. Shakespeare burgers were huge, but lacked flavour... Ordered a side of fries too, which were great, but ended up being a bit too much food. Staff were very friendly and service was great. Outdoor dining above the street is great during a sunny afternoon

Some of the best in-house brews around. All named after Shakespearian characters; my favorite is the ‘King Lear’.
