Surrounded by restaurants, bars, civic buildings, retail stores and the library, the 7 hectare park consists of lawns, gardens, lakes and fountains. Along with the famous clock tower, you will find the war memorial and Maori memorial Te Peeti Te Awe Awe.
Also known by its Maori name Te Marae-O-Hine (meaning 'The Courtyard of the Daughter of Peace'), the Square hosts various concerts, festivals and events including the Festival of Cultures, Art on Edge and a New Years Eve party.

The Square is located bang-smack in the middle of Palmerston North and is a lovely, green, wide, open space. For Manawatu locals, it's also become the go-to spot in Palmy to play Pokemon Go. The duck pond is often the location of more than one lure.

There are always a ton of free actvities on in the square, even in the winter! Live music, markets, giant games, feed the ducks, play in front of the clocktower lights or have a picnic!
