Venue down the stairs of St Kevin's Arcade, walk into a indie, graffitied bar . Love the CIDER!!! Cool, comfy couches, and live music by cool  new bands, great music. Nice spot for a sunday sesh, relaxed !!

Half way down the stairs of St Kevin's Arcade, walk into what looks like a dingy, graffitied bar and through to another room, and you walk into a hidden gem. Dimly lit, comfy couches, and live music by cool people in cool bands. This is my favourite bar in Auckland for a semi-quiet saturday night, vey relaxing, always good. Love it.

Perhaps this wasn't the best place for me to go for after work drinks - however if you describe yourself as an indie, a bohemian, slightly hippie, or just generally alternative, then you'll be fine. It was about 6pm on a Thursday evening and most places on K Road were starting to get a bit busy, however we were some of the select few who had chosen The Wine Cellar. Maybe their regulars were just waking up and having breakfast. There was a distinct odor of Dettol in the air - which would normally be off-putting, but it reassured the uninitiated, that they do in fact clean the place. Don't be deterred though, despite my potentially naive view of the place, it does has a certain character to it which was quite intriguing. A pleasant place for a quite drink with your artist friends, just not my scene.

I'm not sure what I was expecting at The Wine Cellar but I definitely didn't expect the place I visited. This bar is tucked away off K Road and links down to Myers Park and blink and you would miss it. It's a small, dark little bar (although has an awesome outdoor bit) but is pretty awesome. We felt a little out of place in our business attire (especially when everyone was very hip) but the bartender made us instantly feel welcome. Don't expect a IKEA style place, this bar is all about a little grunge and awesome tapestry and graffiti decorates the wall. I believe they do gigs in the weekend and it would be the perfect place to visit on a Saturday night.

Great music and fantastic wall art. This place is cozy and different; a hidden little pocket with a cool vibe.

They’re hot, fun, full of jokes. They play awesome music I could spend all night there. Good value house red and the staff can help you with inventive drink options.

Well humored staff, and those chairs you used to sit on in assembly at high school. All you need to do is read the bathroom wall to see that good times start (and sometimes, end) here.

Cute cosy little bar, great place to have a sit down if you wanted to have a little escape from the busy k rd.  Has great music and live performances regularly, really nice cider worth a try there also.

Great drinks and a cosy atmosphere in the bar section of this venue plus a cool space out the back for bands to play in. I love all the big mis-matched couches that look like they've been picked up from inorganics. I do have to say I prefer the old layout at the bar, when there was more seating but I'm sure I'll get used to the new one! The drinks menu has been carefully selected and the food platters are very much recommended!

The wine cellar hosts good music gigs and has a great range of wines- but the cider is probably what makes them stand out actually- feijoa sometimes and kiwifruit other times. One of the few places with a gritty and underground vibe in the city. Get in early for gigs to get a comfy couch spot.
