Time Out Bookstore

Super friendly staff and an amazing selection of books.  The knowledgeable staff always have recommendations too.... which is very handy if you are like me and never know what to read next.  Added bonus - Lucinda the cat!

This is my favourite book store in NZ! The book selection is great, staff are lovely & have hit the mark with every recommendation and the cat is pretty cute too. Check it out!

Time Out is perfect if you have time to nosey about- but if you need to choose something in a hurry for a gift then the staff are always handy to help you out. They are open until 9pm, seven days a week- perfect!

This is a small bookstore that makes up for size with great selections. Extra points for having the Paris Review interview anthology books there. Great staff too.

This place is pretty much the holy grail of bookshops in central Auckland. A wonderful selection of novels and literature for children with informative staff. Small but perfectly formed! I recently bought a copy of 'Stig of the Dump' from here which I am now reading to my boy. What a blast from the past! And I was struggling to find more 'Naughty Little Sister' stories, but found some here. Go and see what gems you can find! And then you can pick up a coffee from any of the good cafes nearby!

Where literature comes alive!

Amazing selection for such a little shop, I always come here for presents, which is great because you'll find books you won't find anywhere else, and their sale table is awesome! If you need a greeting card, they have gorgeous boxed sets that work out to be cheaper than buying individually. I'm still going on my boxes of Nina Campbell cards from 2008, and I covet my 'Treasure' Nikki Mclure print sets from 2009 too much to give away...

The staff are super friendly, and always eager to help, with a gorgeous little cat that runs around and plays with you. There is such a wide range of REALLY GOOD books, even though the store is tiny. The smallness gives it a cosy feeling, though, like I could cuddle up in a corner and read all day. There is a beautiful children's area at the back of the store with lots of beautiful books with superb artwork, and of course all the great classics. I especially love the wide range of poetry, travel, female studies and spirituality. Also, the blank notebooks by the counter are the best I've ever seen, and I will travel from one side of Auckland just to go there to buy a new notebook. Ten star rating, if I could.

This is a great little book store. I can spend hours browsing. The staff are always helpful.

If you haven't visited before, you should definitely do so. Great atmosphere; cosy without being crowded; knowledgeable friendly staff and quite a good loyalty scheme.
