This place is a little gem, extremely cute furnishings and delicious crepes. Great place to go for dinner or dessert and coffee. It’s situated in Elliot St stables, which is one of our favourite places to eat, it’s where we take all of our friends visiting from out of town. The staff are even authentically French.
Located in the Elliott Stables Eatery , Torchon is a purveyor of the finest crepes and gallettes (savoury crepes) in town. Torchon is a perfect spot to grab a quick bite before a movie or a show at the Civic Theatre, or catch friends for coffee. The French cider on offer is a particular favourite, and comes highly recommended by this Localist!
Torchon was already in full swing shortly 11am on Sunday morning. It was the only business open in the stables that early so my party of 3 was still easily able to get a table inside. My flat white was perfectly made and I had the Nutella and Almonds Crepe, my boyfriend had Banana and Honey on his, and my flatmate devoured two Lemon and Sugar crepes. The look of her iced chocolate also made me envious! All 3 of our crepes were absolutely beautiful and I will be back here soon. My only gripe is that we had to wait so long for our food and there was no apology from the waitress when it eventually arrived, but it was pretty busy.
Went here to grab brunch with a friend. It's something really different to have Sunday Brunch in such a beautiful area. It feels a little Melbourne-esque. The waitress spoke in a lovely french accent and my blueberry crepes with a dollop of yoghurt was just awesome. My friend was equally impressed with his bacon savoury crepe. Nice!!!
