Before going to watch a movie at the Civic we popped into Elliot Stables to grab a bite to eat. We opted for Torchon, the French creperie and ordered the mushroom crepa and an entrée of ratatouille. The mushroom crepe was rich and creamy and the ratatouille tasted authentic. Service was speedy and our meal arrived in under ten minutes - ideal for someone who wants a quick dinner! Recommended.
Came here for dessert, but I think I should have just not had dinner! I got the crepe filled with caramelised apple, cinnamon and maple syrup with an added side of icecream. There was SO MUCH filling! I had imagined a nice layering of apple slices, instead got a generous mound of rich apple filling. On the way out we saw some of the mains crepes, which seemed to be the same size! Anyway, it was really delicious, especially with the icecream. My boyfriend got the banana with chocolate sauce – I wasn't sold on the sauce, but I think it was enjoyed anyway. Next time I think I'll go back to my staple favourite – lemon and sugar – as it's more of a dessert size, and you can't go wrong (in my eyes anyway).
