Additional Information
Had dinner here recently one cold Friday night. I was surprised how empty it was to be honest. We had a mixed entree then one red and one green curry. Divine warming food on a cold cold night. Add the warm environment and up market surroundings and it made for a very pleasant night out. The service, as always, was very good.
The service here is amazng. My husband and i ordered a main meals and afterwards i quickly went to the loo. When i came out the food was already there. And obviously my husband was scffing it down. BUT the main suprise was how quickly the food came to our table. And even more so the quantities were HUGE. It was a great night. I loved it
The service here really stood out! While I was in the loo my wife ordered the food and accidently ordered starter with mushrooms in it, we spoke to the waitress and changed the order. When the mains came out they had taken my dislike of shrooms into account and taken them out of the main dish. All the food was great apart from the tempura which seemed like the fat had not got hot enough. Will definitely give this another try!
This was another, phone to book, as we are about to walk out the door dinner. Thankfully we did because when we got there is was clear that they were fully booked for the evening. I'm starting to feel like we dine out like a stealth mission - in and out in under an hour so we can have our 5yr old home in bed by 7.30pm. The restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived, but it still had plenty of ambiance. We were served promptly, without being rushed and we enjoyed our meals. It was a very pleasant dining experience.
Was sceptical about Tusk (not sure why now) but had heard great things from other people. So I wasn't expecting much going in and was pleasantly surprised. On first appearance I thought the atmosphere wasn't going to be good because it's quite a big open space. But they've separated the counter area from the tables, so once seated you don't feel at all like you're on one of Auckland's busiest streets. The service was good and the meals came out at a comfortable speed. They were quite busy the night we went but pretty much everything was seamless. They had reasonably priced sparkling wine on the wine list too, which is good cos we were celebrating ;-)
