Went here for lunch with a couple of workmates. I had the Red Lentil soup, it was very yummy, all the other food items looked delicious too!

Twenty Three seems to always be busy - probably due to its proximity to Mediaworks and for it being in an area where all the other cafes are distinctly average. But it deserves the crowds of people as the coffee is strong and consistent and the food - both cabinet and off the menu - is delicious!

Pro: One of the few places which sell keepcups! Con: Lacking atmosphere. Staff could have been a bit friendlier. It’s great that they sell keepcups and there were also some other little items which were quite nice to see there (eg quince jelly). I had a savoury muffin which was a bit crumbly but still tasted nice. Unfortunately the atmosphere didn’t convince me. In the front part of the café, you have one table next to one another and in the back you find a bar room and patio, both with fireplaces. Staff could've been a bit more attentive and friendly to new clients entering the café.

Ok, thanks for the honest review :). Sounds like they've got potential though. If they pick themselves up a bit we might have a little gem here...

Pretty much always bustling with customers because twenty three has good coffee and great service.

Yummy! Can't get enough of it... great sugar hit

really friendly, fast efficient service. Great coffee. Went for breakfast thismorning, nice outdoor area through the back.

A hidden gem at the top of Mt Eden Road, right opposite Galbraith’s Ale House. A warm atmosphere, welcoming staff and a cabinet packed with vibrant, delicious counter food. Or order from the menu of cafe staples: mince on toast with a poached egg is the perfect antidote to the cloudy winter chills outside. Courtyard with fire out back too. Recommended.

Just picked up an amazing Supreme coffee and sandwich. We stop in here everytime we hit the electrical wholesalers. Can’t drive by and NOT stop!

Yummy cabinet food and insanely good meals from the kitchen. Careful of the coffee its seriously good.

Food, drink, courtyard, friendly people, historic photos of Auckland (less nerdy than it sounds) - this is my favourite local for breakfast on the weekend and I'd go there every day if I worked within walking distance. They're as friendly here as they are next door at the Corner bar. Order the hash if you can or one of their great counter sandwiches toasted.
