While W.B.C may stand for Wholesale Boot Company, your steak will be far from leathery. The food here is fresh and seasonal that you'll rarely eat the same thing twice. Seafood is a specialty, with squid, sardines and the fish of the day a 'must try', as well as their oyster bar, a rather new concept to Wellington dining.

Situated off the street, up some rather unforgiving stairs, you'll have that same lofty feeling and sense of achievement you get from scaling Mt Victoria. Look down on the world passing you by, in the warmth and friendly environment of WBC.

Cool place!

This place is super cool inside and does delicious food. I was lucky enough to attend the sold-out Wellington on a Plate blind dining event in August this year and it was just absolutely awesome.

You’d never even know it was there, if reviewers and your cool mates weren’t raving about it. Created by the brains behind Capitol, WBC is a tasty, swanky bistro with a big snack menu, awesome bruschetta (try the beetroot one), lots of seafood and live oyster shucking. There’s also a huge range of daily specials, including cocktails. Such a cool place for a dinner out with friends.

Nestled in the old Wellington Boot Company building overlooking Victoria street, WBC definitely doesn’t serve up old boots. The food here is a sort of tapas sorta mains sorta amazing kinda place. Doesn’t’ matter if you get mains because you’ll be so jealous of your compatriots meals that you’ll end up sharing anways. The sardines are to die for!
