This is probably the most iconic thing about Taranaki, it’s the most well known with it attracting many visitors every single day! It was designed by the famous artist Len Lye, and is a whopping 48 metres high with a ‘wand’ that sways in whatever direction the wind is blowing, hence the name. It’s made out of fiberglass and the best part is that it’s on the coastal walkway for everyone to see!
