Who to use when you're renovating
- 18Harbour City PlumbingLower Hutt CentralThe team at Harbour City Plumbing are absolutely primo when it comes to renovating your home. They are efficient, quick, straight to the point kiwi blokes that won't muck around. A Wellington owned and operated company that takes pride in their work, HCP are a team that will leave you feeling stress free about that plumbing issue you were worried about.
- 21Zeal Electrical LtdStokes ValleyI'm all about honesty and integrity when it comes to choosing my tradey's for renovating or household issues that I know I can't fix. I like being told exactly what it is I need, exactly how much I'm looking at paying and potentially what issues may arise in worse case scenario - and the locally owned and operated team at Zeal Electrical do just that. They treat you like you're their only client, and make sure that you're 100% sure of what you're in for, before they start working.
- 32Italian Ceramics Tile Centre LtdAlicetownThis groovy little duo in Petone are my one stop shop when it comes to needing tiles. They will come into your house and help you decide on a tile option that suits your design, quote you on the price for the tiles, and price of installation AND they will install aswell! As I'm a lady of laziness and personally don't like dealing with too many tradies, this works out perfectly. I just sit back, relax and let the pro's at Italian Ceramics do the hard yards!
- 41When you're renovating you might notice that the newest trend is wooden floors. I'm all about dark stain wooden floors to the point that they almost look black! It gives a sleek, modern twist to floorboards and I also know that not every Joe Blows will have the same. The team at Paragon are great, they know this and take all of your concerns into mind when coming up with the best options for your abode. A gorgeous husband and wife team complimented by a small team of experienced installers and over 25years experience combined, this company really knows their stuff.

Best places to go partying for middle agers (25-35)
- 140With their giant outdoor garden area, enough chairs, tables and stools to seat your group - small or large - and friendly staff that provide blankets, hot water bottles and make sure your thirst is quenched. This is my top favourite place to enjoy a ice cold cider, and a cheeky dirty durry.
- 220MatterhornTe AroA covered outdoor courtyard area to the side of Matterhorn with an outdoor fireplace, giant tables and a menu that is made to be shared - this bar is one of my favourites to chill out with a drink, have some dinner and finish it off with a relaxing smoke!
- 317Bangalore Polo ClubTe AroBangalore is the place to go if you're after some decent power ballads, a designated dance floor and some private booths for those that want to take time to chill out. Another beauty is the front outdoor area, you're allowed to take your drinks out and hover around the outdoor fireplaces, and light up.
- 48Boogie Wonderland WellingtonWellington CentralWith their awesome bar that makes you feel like you're back in the '70's, the disco lights, the retro dance floor and upbeat music - this place is primo. A courtyard in the centre of Inferno, Alice and Boogie combines some of the coolest kids in town having a cheeky smoke or getting some fresh air after cutting some shapes on the d'flo.
- 54Good Luck BarTe AroCuba Street is the place for middle-agers to be, and by that I mean the mid 20's to mid 30's, the people that don't want to be caught amongst a swarm of tweens in minuscule clothing. Good Luck bar is one of the many awesome bars to attend when you are a mid-ager looking for a funky little bar to drink creative beverages, boogie with your friends or hide away in the lounge seating in the corner and gasbag about the latest celeb. It's down a few stairs and not blatantly obvious so our drunken younger generations haven't yet picked up on the coolness of this bar, just yet!

- 518Enigma CafeTe AroEnigma are great for everything as they have tons of indoor seating, a big outdoor covered courtyard area and they serve everything from snacks to full menu, to drinks and even gelato (my fave)! I like to come here to chill out from the manic party scene that is Courtenay Place and chill over a wine...
