Supporting local growers and producers for a couple of years now, the Opawa / St Martins Farmers Market is a popular market with locals and those from a little further afield. Raw food, fresh baked bread, free range eggs and fresh fruit and vegetables, you name it!

This market hustles and bustles with locals and tourists in search of the best produce North Canterbury has to offer. Stallholders sell anything from ready-to-eat meals, plants and crafts to candles, second hand goods and cheese. Although a bit of a drive from Christchurch, this is a market you don’t want to miss.

Motueka Sunday Market is great for picking up fresh fruit and vegetables direct from the orchard or market garden. Perfect for your mid summer road trip! Oh and there is gourmet cheese and freshly baked bread too

Great for the family or just a night out with friends, Winnie's is a Christchurch institution for its damn fine pizzas, amazing service and relaxed atmosphere. The pizza here is super cheesy, with heaps of luscious topping which are sure to tickle your taste buds just the right way. A must visit if you're in the area!

Made by Italians in Nelson, these pizzas are truly authentic! Made in a traditional stone oven so these pizzas are nice, crispy and of course, delicious!

Fat Pipi Pizza is world famous in Hokitika. This is a great place to stop when you’re visiting the town. Shabby chic furniture, an open kitchen, cafe and a cosy backyard area makes Fat Pipi’s a most excellent lunch and dinner stop

Kaikoura’s only pizza delivery is brought to you by the fun folk at Black Rabbit Pizza. Prizes are reasonable too (don’t expect to pay more than $25 for a pizza, yay!)

Coal Creek Gardens is an apricot and cherry orchard with a delightful picnic area. Produce from the orchard is sold at Gore Farmers Market Saturdays during fruit season.

Fill up your entire fruit bowl with apples, apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums you have picked yourself!

A small berry farm growing raspberries, strawberries and boysenberries and homestay based out of Wanaka. The best time to stay is obviously in the summer!

A bit of a trek north of Oamaru, this berry farm is worth the drive just for its juicy strawberries.

Hedgerows uses minimal chemicals and pesticides on their delicious strawberries. There’s a gift shop and picnic area for you to enjoy post-picking.

The big, blue and easy to pick blueberries are my favourite. Blueberries have no prickles and they are super delicious. The staff at Blueberry Bliss encourage customers to pick whenever they like and training is given on the best way to pick

There are 15 acres of nashi pear trees in this orchard just out of Christchurch. Don’t forget to bring your own bag or container for your fruity loot.

Pick your own cherries are only $10 a kg at this Amberley-based cherry orchard. Enough said!

Bras for $30.00, underwear for $15.00, there is nothing better than walking away with a bagful of all new underwear. They also always have sales. It’s awesome.
