David Thomas

Entering the Hawke's Bay real estate market in 1998, David quickly established a reputation for integrity and performance, earning Rookie of the Year and maintaining a Top 10 company status for most of his tenure. His background is rooted in retail customer service. For 13 years, David and his wife, Margaret, ran their own ventures—initially in Antiques and Collectables, followed by the home décor store Country Touch—before selling to travel through England. David served as the top Commercial Broker for about 16 years. Having studied under New Zealand expert Mark Sumich, David graduated from an Auckland auctioneering course in 2000 and has led over 100 auctions. Since 2002, he has held management roles across Residential, Rural, Commercial, and Property Management sectors. After obtaining his AREINZ qualification in 2006, he was named Principal Officer. In 2007, he joined the REINZ Hawke’s Bay Committee. Additionally, David spent six years with the Napier Jaycees, serving as President and Regional Trainer before receiving a Life Membership.
