Went there for lunch and unexpectedly was on the day the Ocean swim was on so the whole place was packed. The fish market itself was clean and the seafood was fresh. The brasserie was packed so we went to the Oreanz fish and chips shop for lunch. The hapuka sashimi was great and definitely value for money compared to any Japanese restaurant. The snapper fish was fried nicely in batter but the grilled tuna was a bit over-cooked and  chewy to my taste. Deep-fried mussels and scallops were nice. Overall, a good place for lunch if you like a lot of seafood! :D Might come back to try the brasserie but my wife isn't so keen herself.

Superb review :)

Fresh seafood dining experience in an open courtyard down at Auckland’s Fish Market. There’s even a sand pit to keep the kids happy.

Neat :)

Went to the cooking school here and it was unbelieveable.  The chef had a great sense of humour and we got to cook a couple of supberb dishes that I have cooked again fo my family.  It was brillant.  I can't wait to go back.... I think it would be such a great idea for a team building day for work too so have suggested that to the boss. Really want to take the kids to the seafood market also the atmosphere there is brillant.

Lovely :)

We gave the fish cooking school classes as a gift and the recipient absolutely raved about it - to the point where they have now been back three times. They give you plenty of fish and wine, plus great recipes.

Awesome :)

I love the Auckland fish market. You can grab some stellar fish and chips and sit and eat them on the wharf. If you're feeling healthy, there's stacks of sushi and if you'd rather take something home, the range of seafood is incredible. I grabbed some prawns, scallops and white fish for the bbq. What a triumph!
