The Avondale Race Course has been a go-to destination for the races for almost 100 years, and it’s 2013 reopening has put it back on the map after a three-year of closure.
But, it’s back, and better than ever, now playing host to regular race days and the Avondale Markets. A range of cafe-style food is available on-site, and it’s not far from many cafes and restaurants in the Avondale area thanks to it's central position in the suburb..
As well as being a home of the races, the course itself is a venue for other events like fairs, and festivals during the course of the year, and the middle of the course often doubles as a soccer field on Saturday mornings.
