I visited the Avondale markets for the first time on sunday, and it is awesome. I cant stop kicking myself. Not only is it tones cheaper, but there is such an amazing selection of fruit, veggies, herbs and fresh fish. I think the market has ruined me for ever taking another step in a Countdown or New world. I was a bit overwhelmed this morning so only got an armful of goodies, but the crazy thing is all the produce in the photo below was roughly $10, it would of cost me near $30 at any supermarket.

Before I had kids, I'd love a Sunday morning wander through the Avondale Markets, picking up cheap fresh fruit and veg, exotic herbs and spices for spicy meals, and even a beaten up cheap old washing machine that did us proud for 9 years! These days we eat fish fingers rather than beef rendang, but the kids are now old enough to enough the sights and smells so I reckon some family trips are on the cards!

Great for stocking up the camper van with fresh fruit and vegetables . Lets give it a go but make sure you park your vehicle safely [lots of sticky fingers]

I love coming to the Avondale Sunday Markets early in the morning because the same stallholders have been here for the last 25 years. There's so many awesome secondhand furniture and curios finds as well as heaps of clothing that you can buy for gold coins.

Cheap place to shop!

Who doesn't love Avondale Markets? Thai Noodle Soup for Breakfast, cheap Fruit & Veges and browsing other people's junk!! Primo Sunday morning adventures.

Love the market!

Fresh goodness awesome priced produce

Cheap and fresh veges and fruit herbs and spices also the street food is not too bad either

I love the Avondale markets for the fantastic fresh produce, but the car boot type stalls are a real treat - there’s always an awesome, random spread of stuff/junk/bric-a-brac to sort through.
