Just over Ballance Bridge sits a beautiful grassy clearing surrounded by native bush: the Ballance Domain.

The domain has a great little adventure playground making it ideal to keep the kids occupied while the family enjoys a spot of relaxation next to the Manawatu river.

It's now super easy to access thanks to a new walking track which winds through the bush and comes out next to the Bridge Cafe.

This is the perfect spot to experience the real Te Apiti, Manawatu Gorge and spend the day getting in touch with your inner outdoors-man while relaxing amongst the native bush.

A lovely little slice of the Kiwi bush! Go for a walk in the short loop track which is great for people of all ages and fitness levels. There is a small park for the kids to play in and the track ends at the famous Bridge Cafe where the food is amazing and there is a beautiful view of the region!

    I took my daughter here a couple of weeks ago and she loved it. There is a really small section of the Gorge walk that you can do from here which only took us about 15 minutes which is great for preschoolers! After that we had a play at the park and it was an awesome family outing!
