Basement Theatre

The Basement has now opened up the studio upstairs, which is great as it means we can see even more great shows at The Basement, A lot of good stuff happens here- from professional to more experimental work. Luckily, the toilets have just been updated (thank god!) so the experience now is even more "comfortable".

Really nice cocktails, chairs get a bit uncomfortable after a while, friendly staff, good comedians. minimal food offered but if the Mexikai truck is outside you're sorted.

I don't know if they are sponsored by Tiger Beer, but I would like a bit more variety on the booze list. Apart from that, have a friendly enough vibe, have seen some great shows down there, be it theatre or music. Gets busy, but fosters a nice crew of people that attend events

I have been going to the Basement for years and seen some great shows.  Really well setup for intimate shows, so you really feel part of the performance. Some really quality performers make it a great night out! Went for the recent comedy festival . . . and having the Taco truck outside was a great touch. Keep it up guys

I have been going to gigs and shows at the Basement for a long time now and I simply love it. It is the home of emerging new artists, so if you are looking to be entertained the basement is the place to go. Reasonable ticket prices and a great wee bar to check out while waiting for your show. 

Went here for one of the comedy festival shows. It was really good, I had never been to the basement before but was very impressed. The set up is pretty cool and they have a bar inside. Highly reccommend

Awesome night out enjoying Tom Furniss.   Great tacos and margaritas too.    You rock localist for providing these tickets.    Me and my mates had a great night out.   really enjoyed tom's show,, very unassuming but some real belly laughs.      cheers

Had an amazing time at TJ McDonald last night...he was hilarious! Had never been to the basement studio before but it was pretty good for an intimate venue...Definitely a good place to keep an eye on in future...cheers localist! For some reason this gave me no points.Just seeing if I can change that

It is a fantastic intimate space. The staff here are friendly and service with a smile went here for a Greg Ellis show. Mexikai at the back is a good touch. The only lil complaint I have is when we were at the show it was extremely hot in there. No ventilation so a few of us were sweating and uncomfortable.
