Bella Vita has been treating its patrons to mouth-watering Italian cuisine in New Plymouth for a long time. Now that it has relocated its restaurant to Devon Street, it is able to offer a new atmosphere, while still serving its delicious Italian menu items.

Offering fresh pasta and gnocchi, pizza and a selection of yummy mains, Bella Vita has a relaxed setting with high ceilings, comfortable seats and soft background music.

The dining area has two rooms, one of which is able to cater to large groups and the other is more intimate.

The service is unparalleled, and if you’re hungry we recommend ordering the steak.

I would say Bella Vita is probably the top Italian food place in Taranaki, and that is a big statement considering there are a lot of food places around! Their pizzas are so authentic you’ll think you’re in Naples in Italy munching of a Margherita pizza! If you want great but simple food, come and experience this.

If I had to pick a favourite Italian restaurant in the whole of Taranaki, Bella Vita would be it. Being Italian, of course they make their own pasta, but it’s so different from here; I literally feel like I’m having dinner in Italy when I eat it, all I need is some tiramisu to top it off! They have a great wine selection to go with the meals as well.

Italian food just seems to ooze romantic no matter where you go, and Bella Vita is no exception. For one, the atmosphere here is so lovely, I would be comfortable in any situation, it’s so great to come here with your partner and take in all the décor. I LOVE seafood, and their Seafood Linguini is literally to die for, I wanted more after my first serving because of how delicious it was, despite me being so full!

Bella Vita is relatively new to New Plymouth, but that hasn’t stopped them from being one of the most fully booked restaurants in the city; so booking will be essential if you want to grab a table. In 2012, they were in the top 10 Taranaki Daily News Top Shop awards. When you walk in, the smell is divine and it just lingers around you. Even if you’re walking past outside, it beckons you in. It has outstanding service as well as reasonable prices for what you’re getting which is a very decent portion! The bruschetta with tomato salsa is a popular starter that is delicious, and for a main, the aged scotch fillet is a definite top pick of mine.
