A sexy, low-lit bar with fabulous tapas. The brainchild of Peter Gordon. You gotta try the Pedro Ximenez!

Unlike many Auckland tapas-style establishments, Bellota below SkyCity is modern, sleek and super cool. Almost Manhattan-esque in feel, its menu is fresh and authentically Spanish, with olives and pickles and Iberian ham featuring heavily in the line up. They also serve a stunning array of Spanish cheeses that go perfectly with a glass of sherry or cava, and the most perfectly crafted churros in town.

I went here with a grab one voucher for 2. It has a really good atmosphere, very busy but too crowded as you have either snug booths or a shared table.  Its quite dimly lit but thats ok as it doesnt hinder you seeing your food.  The staff were attentive and answered questions well as I didnt know what some of the tapas were.  I would go back I really enjoyed the food and vibe :)

The food at Bellota is incredible, if a little expensive, but you're getting to eat some wonderful ingredients. The cheese balls are a real winner, and the beer selection is very different (different is good) to what you find at most other bars in Auckland. Highly recommended!

great place to catch up with colleges or meet friends on your way into town for the night. It is a good place to start the evening. They have a great menu with the best spanish tapas i have ever had, their stuffed olives are truely great. They have funky glass wear which is the icing on the cake. One funky and cool night out. The drinks menu is good and matches the food well. It is a great bar with great food, so it is more than just a bar.

Great little Tapas bar across the road from Skycity Grand, perfect little cosy tables, food is always good & sangria is just the thing on a hot afternoon. Popped in last night for a drink before heading out for dinner, place was packed (not surprising for a Saturday night) so we took a seat at the bar to wait for a table, unfortunately no one took our drinks order so we left after 25 mins, won't put me off returning though.

As a long-time fan of Peter Gordon's The Providores tapas room in London, I'm a little embarrassed to say how long it took for me to visit Bellota! It's a small space but well-laid out, with little booths that are surprisingly roomy, and because they're separated by slatted walls and dimly lit we took our four-month old son and he just happily slept while we had a good-old-fashioned date night. I wanted to try everything, but noteworthy were the empanadas, the chicken thigh with lime and smoked paprika, apple-ginger salsa and jamón Serrano, the tapioca shells stuffed with lamb, watercress and kumara, the crispy squid tentacles were amazing as well, with a beautifully rich and unctuous cramelised onion and piquillo alioli. All were delicious. I was saving room for dessert and churros, but we had to leave. Sigh. I'll be back for those! They have a lovely little wine list heavy on Spanish and Argentinian wines, reasonably well-priced. Not too shabby!

Very tasty Tapas.  Cool interior.

This bar makes my all time favorite cocktail - Matalina Caliente. Absolutely irresistible! Especially with some tapas on the side.

Very tasty food
