BizTalk Toastmasters is a public speaking organisation based in the University of Auckland.
We are a friendly student and graduate Toastmasters Club. Come and give a speech and gain helpful evaluations. There is always a lot of banter and fun going on amongst the members but they are always supportive while you give your speech. Impromptu speeches are held at every meeting and gives every member a chance to develop their quick thinking skills. For those with a competitive bent of mind, four competitions are held at the club – Humorous, Evaluation, Table Topics and International Speech contest. The International Speech contest allows you to take part at the highest level of speech contests and is held in the US every year.
Outside of the club, we also hold events for team bonding such as Paintball events or trips to Comedy Improve Theatre.
So come and visit us. We meet every Monday at 6pm.

I went along for A few toastmaster sessions while at school, the club I attended paid special focus on impromptu speeches. This proved invaluable practise for me in preparation for school and University debating. Apparently the average person fears speaking in public more than death! If this sounds like you head along to a toastmaster meet, where you’ll find a welcoming supportive group of people all looking to improve or gain new skills. This is one of the few clubs that truly can change your life.
