Brezelmania has been operating its German inspired café and bakery in Petone for over 10 years. Jackson Street. It was the first, in a chain of three, that popped up in Wellington.

Maureen and Tony Parun, who run the Brezelmania bakery, serve up freshly baked German styled cakes, pastries, slices and breads. The name, brezel is actually the original German name for pretzel.

Their coffee is also delicious and it's well worth either relaxing inside the cafe, or grabbing something to-go for a morning or afternoon tea snack.

Head over to Brezelmania in Petone for fresh bread or a slice. Known as the Original German Bakery in a town with a reputation for its international food shops, Brezelmania does not disappoint. I got the banana and blueberry slice to go, and happily munched on the unique combination all afternoon. With freshly made sandwiches in store, you could just as easily have lunch there.

It’s very dangerous working over the road from their Jackson Street store, but damn do they make good bread, pretzels and cakes! Highly recommend the rock salt pretzel and carrot cake. So fresh and so good! Check them out in Lower Hutt, Kilbernie, Petone, Molsworth St (CBD), and Kelburn. Is it sad I know where they all are?
