Melba is one of the few cafes in Auckland that could be called an institution. The original café in Vulcan Lane has changed little over the last decade. It's the kind of place both locals and tourists have always felt very comfortable visiting. It was...

The original and indomitable Melba on the iconic Vulcan Lane. Aucklands stalwart Cafe with the full compliment of breakfast banquet bites. Inviting and comforting with choices from porridge for the cold days and a full mixed grill for the cheat days, perfect!

Perfect spot to have brunch in the central city, great coffee and super speedy service

Love this place really impressive location and coffee.

When I worked in the High Street district over fifteen years ago, the only spot worth visiting for coffee was the awesome Cafe Melba. Fast forward a bunch of years and it is still my top pick, with perfectly crafted caffeine and an all day menu packed with treats and delights. Their mince on toast is as hearty as it gets, while my favourite is the Smashed Avocado and Puhoi Feta served with a poached egg on sourdough. Stop by for coffee and leave with a full belly is my advice!

The avocado options are really tasty in regards to both visuals and taste. The coffee is a smooth blend with low aromatic intensity (that is at least while outside with a light breeze).

Great coffee, food and service :)

best coffee ive had in ages!

This is my absolute favourite child-friendly cafe. I usually simply order sides of salmon, avocado, 5-grain bread and poached egg, which I share with my 22 year old.The bench seats along the back are great for her to perch on, or when that’s full, we’ve used the nice wooden high-chair for her.Service is always friendly, helpful and efficient.Food is delicious – always just what I want.Free parking round the back is handy. The cafe is super-busy on Saturdays for brunch, but we’ve always managed to find a table. And to top it off, they serve a great coffee.

They say that it’s hard to find a good cup of coffee anymore because everyone is selling it on every street corner. And while that does seem to be the case more and more, there are good places to find espresso heaven and cool atmosphere. I’ve found Marcellos and I"m hooked. They reasons you should go 1. really terrific coffee  2. a full menu of great food 3. clean and cool interior 4.great facebook page! lots of info 5. staff makes you feel right at home, relaxed and helpful

This cafe offers great coffee which is full of flavour, and exceptional service. The menu offers a good range depending on your appetite there something for you, there are also great additions of daily specials. The service is exceptional and the staff take order quickly and are helpful and friendly. It is a good sized cafe for a central location cafe. This place is popular so it can be quite busy some days but the staff always try and accommodate you. The cafe is very clean and although they don't have much cabinet food the menu means you don't want to leave anyway! Great to catch up with family or friends over lunch while at work.
