Calcutta Wala Indian Cuisine

Calcutta Wala is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in downtown Auckland. Went there for a quick lunch and truly enjoyed the food. The staff recognises us and is so please to always see us coming back. Indeed, the curries tastes so good, that I truly enjoy having them with hot naan's.

Took my grandmother for a treat to Calcutta Wala and she really enjoyed the Indian meal very much. The food is truly delicious and the staff too were very friendly. Will definitely return for a scrumptious meal once again.

Went to Calcutta Wala and the food there was delicious. As we had used the coupon, it was value for money deal. The service too was fantastic. Will definitely return to try out the other menu items. 

We went to the Calcutta Wala over the weekend, and had awesome Indian food. We started off with Onion Bujji which was very hot and crispy and tasted delicious with the chutneys. Our mains, then arrived which was truly value for money. Both the butter chicken and the mango chicken were very well made. We were served by very friendly staff. A definite place to return to once again with my family and friends. 

I had heard good things about this place so decided to call in and try their curries, the waiter was attentive and friendly and the food was good. We shared the Butter Chicken and the Lamb Biryani, along with the cheese naan. All the food was tasty and there was plenty of it. I will go back again to try some of their other dishes. The prices were very reasonable too and they have some good deals on at lunchtime and on Monday and Tuesday nights.

This place has good lunch deals that are great value for money. Good portioning & the food is yummy. My favorite is the Veg Jalfrezi. 

I came here 3 months ago & liked it alot.  On Friday night we stumbled in and were very surprised to get a table on RWC opening night.  The table was dirty & uncleared but the girl assured us she would clean it in a minute.  Well to cut a very long story short...  We cleaned up our own table & had to ask for menus.  We watched as at least 6 tables lay full with dirty dishes as people left.  We watched at least  4-6 groups of people arrive, sit down, notice the uncleared tables and leave again.  The funny thing was the staff walked past these uncleared tables on so many ocassions and didnt touch them.  We found this amazing.  They even pretended to look busy at the bar to avoid clearing these 6-7 dirty tables.  I'm still stunned.  The record of uncleared tables was at 1.5 hours when we left. The food was however pretty good.
