What a great cafe to visit for a special occasion, just for breakfast or lunch or just a casual stop in. While it is a little on the pricy side the food and coffee is of high quality. What a brilliant idea making use of the old trains in this way and a great spot with lovely scenery

Carriages Cafe is a great place for a casual snack or a family feast. Lovely to visit when it's wet outside and you can watch the wildlife from the toasty warm carriage seating areas. A real treat for the kids too!

What a great atmosphere and equally great food. Have breakfast in a train carriage!

A great spot for brunch with the family.  Kids absolutely love sitting in the carriages to eat - it's a real novelty.  Yummy food with an extensive menu & cabinet food to choose from.   Friendly service tops it off.

Beautiful on a sunny day, but even if it’s raining, great place to have yummy food and drinks.

If you haven't had a breakfast or lunch at Carriages in Kumeu... you are really missing something!   We have had so many pleasant meals there over the last few years, and always have a great time, and a great feed!  It is really cosy either sitting in the old train carriages, or on the lovely deck with great scenery.  The food is excellent... have never had anything to complain about.  I even hired one of the carriages for my daughters "Hen Party", and the staff were so cooperative, and let us decorate it with streamers etc, and take music inside it, and we had one of the best times, and the food was fantastic.  Everyone who attended said it was one of the best hen's party they had been to!!...   Carriages, "You are the best"!!

This is one of my all time favourites for a Sunday brunch (and what ended up being a mid week brunch today).  If theres anything you don't like with the meal they will happily exchange it for something else. Looking out over a pond full of ducks, the perfect place to take your old bread scraps and let the kids feed the ducks..,

Nothing special but also nothing to complain about. The coffee was good and the carrot cake also. The location is of course really nice. We thought it was a great idea to mark the soy flat white by writing soy on its froth with chocolate – to avoid any confusion. Good idea for other cafes as well!

Great customer service, beautiful outlook on the pond. Hot chocolates are devine as is the brekkys.  A tad higher in price than other cafes.
