The Cartel Bar in Central Auckland is a fantastic basement bar who has previously won Auckland’s best bartender and best cocktail list at the Lewisham Awards. This bar creates the best cocktails I've ever tasted. Perfect to drop by in summer for a great cocktail!

    I love this bar. Its so teeny and I love how secret it is. Downstairs hidden away, with bartenders that always know exactly how to make the perfect drink for your mood. Great music and definitely one of my all time favourites.

      what more can i say had some awesome nites at your bar!!!

        This bar has a fantastic range of fine whiskeys and great tequila’s. Highly recommend Cartel.

            Next time you're at Squid Row nomming down delicious seafood, check out the awesome bar next door. It's classy and the champagne is more than reasonable.

              This place is tucked downstairs under the strangely named Squid Row. Much to my surprise there are usually very few people here. To my surprise becuase they make the best damn cocktails in Auckland. I'm not sure I want the secret to spread too far so only tell a few people ok?? The bartenders are always keen to impart their knowledge on the history of various cocktails too, turning the experience of buying a drink into an EXPERIENCE!

                Tucked away and small - but those are not negatives. Nice selection, very friendly staff - and always space to have a natter with friends. It has a peculiar aspect I can't put my finger on (not a criticism) but whatever it is - I keep seeming to go back
