You don't have to be a nostalgic for the days of airline glamour or a flying buff to enjoy it here. It's a great day out for families any day or if you're at a loose end on a rainy day. You can even book a flight in a vintage aircraft.

      Beth at the cafe is the loveliest person and the food is just delicious!

        Awesome classic flight experience and the museum is well organised too

          The main attraction here are the planes; the scale biplane that kids can play in is worth the trip alone. There is also a range of other aeronautical distractions for young and old. Its next to some of the airport hangers so you may even see the real thing in action.

            Nostalgic journey and the excitement of some of NZ’s rich aviation history!

              Planes always hold a sense of fascination for kids, particularly classic planes. The Classic Flyers aviation museum is a great place to keep the kids occupied and also ensure they are indadvertedly learning something about history too! Let them run around the museum, hop inside the planes, go for a ride on the classic fire engine and then when they’re tired-out pop into the cafe for lunch. Classic Flyers also do kids birthday parties if you’re looking for that special venue for your little one’s party.

                This was recommended by a work colleague for somewhere my toddler son might enjoy so whilst on a long weekend away we went to check it out, and it was definitely a hit.  This place is fantastic for kids - with little planes to ride around in and big planes to climb in and out of too my son loved it and there is a little cafe on site to enjoy a coffee after all the fun :-)
