Oh my God, the Spanish really know how to do food, particularly meat dishes. There’s so much to choose from, so you can either go down the tapas route (small plates) or you can order a full meal. It’ll leave the tapas selecting up to you, but if you opt for one of the full meals well then the slow-cooked beef cheek in Pedro Sherry, served with truffle mash and seared broccolini is to die for!
This is top of my list for my husband and I. I can’t confidently walk past this place at the moment - if I plan to dine on The Strand in Tauranga - without feeling like another restaurant choice might leave me disappointed. I love the fact you can order a selection of tasty tapas and pizzas. No visit is complete without their calamari and the meat platter is great to share between two. Then for dessert the churros (which always remind me of my visit to Disneyland) are sooo good dipped in hot chocolate sauce.
This is one of my favourite Tauranga restaurants to enjoy lunch outside in the sun. They serve a tapas menu so you can sample different foods and flavours without feeling weighed down by a big meal. The seafood or meat platters are great to share with friends over a wine and the crispy calamari is a must order every time I go. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and there’s often some live music playing on a Sunday afternoon.
