This is a great track for beginners. Beginner mountain bikers won’t feel intimidated here by the more experienced bikers as there is plenty of space for everyone. I love all the shade throughout this part of the Wairakei Forest too. Bring along some food and lots of water is my advice as mountain biking takes it out of ya!

    This was my first Mountain Biking attempt, and I absolutely loved it. I borrowed a mate's bike and can well say I conquered the Craters MTB Park. This was a really cool, different way to explore Wairakei Forest - I'm usually on foot. I loved that there were beginner tracks too so I didn't feel too intimidated by the hardcore mountain bikers. Lots of shade too so I didn't worry too much about getting sun burnt, as it was a whole day trip.
