Get on yer bike this Easter and join the throng of bikers to ride 43km from Church Road Winery to Black Barn. A day of tasting, imbibing and exploring the delights of Hawke’s Bay. It’s fun, full of laughs and not for serious bikers. To top it off there’s a wheely good fun party at the finish line at Black Barn.
A finalist in the 2014 New Zealand Association of Event Professionals Awards The Big Easy cycle run, at Easter, has got to be the best in NZ. In two years' numbers have grown to more than 1,500. Don’t despair, it’s a fun event, lycra is not de rigueur and it only covers 45kms of the 200kms off-road trails. There are plenty of eating and drinking stops on the way, you have most of the day to get there, but don’t dawdle too long or you will miss the big concert at the finish, at either Church Road or Black Barn vineyards.
