There's a reason that Dante's pizza has won a bunch of awards. They make really, really good pizza. I think it has something to do with the fact that the owner has some Italian certificate in pizza making, the fresh ingredients or the wood fire pizza oven. Whatever it is, it's working. We ordered the chorizo and the famous margarita. The staff were helpful in the choices and when the pizza arrived it was delicious. The chorizo was spicy, the mozzarella creamy and the tomato sauce tangy and sweet! The base was crispy and when folded in half (the traditional way) the slices became delicious parcels. Get there if you haven't tried it.
Recently there have been a lot of people telling me to check out Dante's pizzeria in Ponsonby Central, claiming that they are quite possibly the best pizza's in town and that I must go and try them. So on Saturday night I headaed there with a group of friends and I can happily confirm that the rumours are true. Dante's is delicious, between us we had the Marinara, La Bella Italia and the Con Proscuitto pizza, all of them absolutely delcious. I am now a big fan of Dante's and already planning my next trip there this week.
