Dixie Brown;s pizza is enough to feed two. Beautifully big, round and yummy, their South Island Salmon pizza is to DIE for. Topped with smoked Benmore salmon, capers, red onion and mozzarella on sweet apricot and cream cheese, this is hands down the best gourmet pizza in town. If Salmon’s not your thing, they have a whole range of other eually delicious gourmet pizzas to choose from.
Dixie Brown’s Croissant Bread and Butter Pudding is to die for. A great modern take off the standard bread and butter pudding, served with caramel sauce and cream. This is a good choice if you’re after something a bit different. The atmosphere at Dixie Brown’s is great too - right by the lake, friendly staff, and consistently great food.

Best seafood chowder! It’s the perfect comfort food on a cold winter night..and Taupo nights can get quite cold. Served with a doughy ciabatta roll, it’s my top pick when I’m eating out in Taupo. Definitely a heart warmer! What makes it even better is the awesome lake view from Dixie Browns while you eat.
Dixie Brown's is the place to go if you're with a big group. Great, upbeat atmosphere, awesome food, and massive portions. The place has a cool retro feel and if you're ordering a pizza, it's big enough to share between three people. Good prices too. It's ALWAYS busy, so pays to book in advance. It's good a good view of the lake too if you're sitting outside.
