Awesome yum cha! Good selection of tasty oriental treats.

My favourite yum cha for the fact that it’s always bustling. The staff here are friendly too and their mango pudding is my pick of the bunch!

Prawn rice rolls

Yum cha isn’t technically brunch but time it right and it’s a great substitute. There are a couple of great yum cha places in Wellington, but this one gets a special mention as I think it has an awesome atmosphere. The staff here are warm and quick. Another reason Dragons rates so highly is because of their mango pudding. There’s nothing worse than having to fight over the last bowl but here, the lady (who I assume is one of the owners) came over, asked us how many we wanted and swiftly brought over the bowls of tropical goodness. I’m glad I didn’t have to share because it was DELICIOUS. Dragons is always packed in the weekend so don’t forget to book!

Being a virgin at Yum Cha I was excited at the idea of food being carried around just waiting for you to eat it. You end up with things you’d probably never order or try, nice small portions so you can try lots. Not only a great fun experience, but great tasty food! The warm pork buns are my “must try” to keep warm this winter.

Dragons Chinese, located just off Courtenay Place, is a good destination for a large weekend dinner party. With BYO, ample space, and tables fitted out with revolving lazy susan-style daises for sharing plates, the atmosphere here is lively. Prices are steep (a $16 vege egg noodle dish is one of the more affordable options) and vegetarians may need to hunt through pages of meat to find what they're after, but portions are enormous. Plus, MANY portable heaters scattered throughout the restaurant ensure you'll stay warm and cosy on any of Wellington's famously fierce winter nights.

Dragons is located in the heart of Courtenay Place and Tory Street, it is the ideal restaurant to pop into before a night out on the Town! Dragons is good for all group sizes, and with it's fully stocked bar and very special wine list, or BYO, its sure to keep your lady happy, while the continual supply of food will keep your mates happy. The restaurant is very large, and furnished with Chinese decorations throughout. The staff are very friendly and courteous and make sure your tea is always adequately topped up or just pay attention the constantly rolling around trolley full of beer! (Unless of course you bought your own wine). The portion sizes are adequate, hot and fresh. The pricing is good too, it's definitely value for money going to Dragons - I would definitely go again! Must try Mango Pudding too, have heard only amazing things!

I reached the ever allusive Yum Cha nirvana at Dragons. My friend and I were shown to our table, immediately we were bought fresh jasmine tea, within minutes our favourite steamed dumplings came around, as  if reading our mind next came the steamed buns and greens and finally just before deciding if we stuck around for coconut buns they floated past just in time for us to inhale them. We were in and out within 30minutes! I walked away with that delicious glow only yum cha can bring.

Ah! If you want good Chinese food, you have to come here! Affordable, and absolutely delicious. The staff are super friendly, especially the manager. Having an endless list of allergies, the staff looked after me very well (telling me what to and not to eat). Definitely coming back very very soon.

Went here for a mate's birthday. Great time. Yum Char is yum and a fun time.Great service and food
