So many lovely options for vegetarians. The friendliest people in the world - serving you the best burgers EVER! These burgers are so, so fresh - with really interesting sauce combinations.

Ekim Burgers are well worth the trip out to Lyall Bay, as the queues on the weekend go to show. There are heaps of options for both meat lovers, vegetarian and vegans; all are enormous, and many feature special touches like onion jam, blue cheese sauce and corn fritters. Most are about $8, and so they’re excellent value; the cheapest, a classic beef burger, is a steal at $5. The caravan is parked beach-side on Lyall Bay from about 11am ‘til 8.30pm most days, but check their Facebook page for updates on stormy days.

Let me tell you a tale. It is a love story. But unlike most love stories, this yarn is not about a man and a woman, not even a man and a man: ‘tis between a man and a burger. I fell in love with Ekim burgers. The Little Mike. Oh mumma! You need to try these burgers. Now. Go. Go out to Llyal bay right now. Stuff one in your mouth and love it like I do.

Before you eat an Ekim burger, you hear about Ekim burgers. About how good they are. About how cheap they are. About how much they’ll change your life. About how much they embarrass the competition. It’s all true. Believe the hype. This is the place.

Okay, so Ekim Burgers in Lyall Bay isn’t as secret now as it used to be, but it’s still one of the best burger spots in the city. Affordable prices, delicious burgers, and yo, that Lyall Bay view/walk - wonderful!!! Vegans and vegetarians are well catered to here as well.

Ekim Burgers are to die for - hands down the best burgers Wellington has to offer, and well-worth a trip out to Lyall Bay. Heaps of options, including for meat lovers and vegos, plus the chips (with spesh relish) are also awesome. No burger is over $15 and most are around the $8 mark (the cheapest is $5!), making this an affordable option for a lazy pre-payday meal.

I only just worked this out! Mike serves up the best burgers in Wellington out of a tiny caravan that he decides on the day if it is worth opening up for! But It makes those days when you see the bright orange caravan in the distance that much more exciting and rewarding because you know your day just got infinitely better. Try them all, they are all good and their homemade tomato sauce is worth making the trip for alone.
