Fat Camel Cafe is an Israeli cafe/restaurant located in Whangarei. Fully licensed and with a pleasant outdoor courtyard for sunnier days, they serve Caffe L'affare coffees and a tasty selection of traditional Israeli dishes including pita pockets, salads, platters, falafel and more.

Everything at the Fat Camel tastes explosively delicious. I love their vegetarian platters with warm breads and all sorts of dips like creamy home-made hummus and epic olive tapenade. They also have amazing desserts like their lemon semolina cake with candied lemons - best ever!

    Middle Eastern food is some of my favourite and these guys are geniuses at procuring it. All of their meals are zinging with flavours, spices and freshness. I've tried and loved their falafel pita, chicken shawarma and mixed grill plate. They also have great desserts if you have a sweet tooth like the classic baklava.
