Fergusson park is a recreational park located in the much sought after Tauranga suburb of Matua. Popular with cyclist, walkers, families enjoying a picnic, and kids playing sports on weekends, facilities include a children's playground, carpark, sports fields and clubrooms.
There are many events hosted onsite including community days, the Tauranga Half Marathon, football tournaments, national kiteboarding competitions, windsurfing races and more.
It's a great place to sit and relax by the waterfront on a sunny day while enjoying lovely views out to Rangiwaea Island and Mount Maunganui.

If you're looking for a great spot to give your dog (and yourself) some healthy exercise this weekend, this beautiful park on the Matua Peninsula is a great place to do it. Right on the water's edge there's room to play plenty of fetch or wander amongst the trees long the shoreline. There are usually lots of kids around so if your dog has a tendency to be very friendly or boisterous it might pay to take a lead along with you.
This is one of my favourite places in Tauranga. The tree-lined waterfront park is stunning on a summer's day. In the weekends there is always cricket, soccer or kitesurfing to watch and plenty of walkers and cylists enjoying the view. There are two playgrounds for the kids to enjoy. A great place to escape the city for lunch or ponder on a seat, looking across to Mauao.
