Take the kids to Founders Park for a day out, exploring old buildings and seeing how Nelson used to be. There are working craft studios, a vintage aeroplane and a model railway (check opening times) plus a cafe and room to run about.

    Founders Heritage Park is a good rainy day option as you can walk around most of the display buildings under their verandahs. The park has a collection of heritage buildings that are interesting to explore, along with static displays and several businesses operating out of the park buildings. Founders caffe and brewery is well worth a visit too.
