Sweet cocktails, good music, cozy d-floor. A winning combination.

After about 10pm on Friday and Saturday night, the queue for Good Luck Bar – of first- and second-year students – can extend to Ghuznee St. But during the week, and before 10pm on weekdays, it’s a pleasant spot for a casual drink, especially the seated area on Cuba Mall and at the back of the bar. There are also very competitive drinks specials.

One of my favourite after-hours spots. Easy to miss, Good Luck is innocuously located but well worth the search party. Creative cocktails, a trendy clientele and an opium-den feel make this bar one of Wellington’s most unique.

Cuba Street is the place for middle-agers to be, and by that I mean the mid 20's to mid 30's, the people that don't want to be caught amongst a swarm of tweens in minuscule clothing. Good Luck bar is one of the many awesome bars to attend when you are a mid-ager looking for a funky little bar to drink creative beverages, boogie with your friends or hide away in the lounge seating in the corner and gasbag about the latest celeb. It's down a few stairs and not blatantly obvious so our drunken younger generations haven't yet picked up on the coolness of this bar, just yet!
