Hawthorn Lounge is a laid-back old school place to catch up for a drink. The style is right out of the 1920s with sharply dressed waiters, classic cocktails, and comfortable leather armchairs. An open fire makes it great for those colder nights.

It's one of those places that you have to know where to look - tucked away on Tory Street, hidden away in an upstairs room, it's one of Wellington's best-kept secrets.

Hawthorn Lounge has great service and attention to detail and a fantastic atmosphere.

Tucked away upstairs on Tory street is the ever elegant Hawthorn lounge. If Red curtains, private tables, card games and fancy cocktails are your thing, you might just find Hawthorn lounge is right up your alley. Love the waistcoat-clad bartenders too!

    When you walk into Hawthorne Lounge it’s like stepping back in time to a 1920s speakeasy. The open fire and the felt-topped tables lend themselves to intimate games of backgammon over classy drinks made by the knoweldgeable bar staff. Also you can toast marshmallows. SO GOOD.
