If we’re eating pizza in our favourite spots are most definitely SPQR and Prego, but for pizza by the slice you just can’t beat the legendary Il Buco for freshness and flavour. Jonny and his team serve around thirty different varieties, and this includes options for vegetarians, vegans and those who go gluten free too. And there is never any compromise on taste, the ingredients are that good.
Il Buco serves up Roman-style pizza by the slice, which you can enjoy there or take home and finish in your own oven. They also have incredible rotisserie chickens cooked fresh to order, soup and soldiers in the cooler months and a great range of vegan pizza options by the slice if you are that way inclined. All served up with excellent coffee of course, and open from early til late.
The price war on pizzas has seen prices plummet in recent years, and you can now get an entire pizza for around $5 on certain days of the week at your big brand chains - so you'd have to be doing something pretty special to charge that for just one slice. Fortunately, Il Buco delivers on all of that, with a wide range of delicious pizza-by-the-slice offerings to cater to any dietary requirements, from vegetarians and vegans to people intolerant to gluten or cheese. With only a dozen small seats cramped along the sidewalk, there are limited 'dine in' options, however if you do decide to stay, the slices are served piping hot and artfully arranged on a long board, pre-cut for your convenience. It's a great spot for a quick lunch, and also for grabbing some dessert and coffee in the evening when most cafes are closed.
