I recently went to the Powerstation, where I have been going since I was a teenager. The best thing about the Powerstation is that wherever you stand you can see the act - even if you're a shorty! I also love that it's never oversold, even at a sold out gig. There are always plenty of spots to be found where you don't have to rub up against sweaty concert goers. 

Auckland has a great world class venue to be proud of now. I think its been a long time coming. 

Bring on more concerts at Western Springs. I might be  more partial as I live close by, but being that it’s a very central location , there are plenty of ways to get there. 

The room is full of history and you have never experienced a concert until you have been there. The acoustcs are magical 

If your a an upcoming indie band more than likely you would have played at The Kings Arms . Small yet loads of character.

This cosy little bar is an absolute delight. Cool tunes and delish cocktails

First I'm a sucker for a good name. The Gyspy Tea room just says "cool" to me.  It's relaxed yet sophisticated. Cool but not try hardish.  My perfect venue for a nightcap!

My lovely little local has the perfect setting for a pre-drink with a friend or romantic wine with your other half

. The owners are ex Mondial owners and have again established another successful restaurant

One of the original wine bars about Auckland, This place still hums most nights, but especially the nights when there is a gig at the Powerstation

If you have friends in town you should take the 45 min drive towards Snell's Beach. It's absolutely gorgeous, the owners have impeccable taste. The  sculptures are so impressive and they have a lovely glasshouse type restaurant where you can also sample their wines and enjoy a platter. 

East West is my choice for hot yoga. Definitely for the hardcore, but the instructors really help and push you to reach your limits. 

These markets are my favorite markets in Auckland. The produce is cheap but great quality, You can buy everything from wine, cupcakes, croissant, coffee, seafood…..its all there. They also have French musicians which make you feel like you in a the markets in Paris 

I think this picture says it all.  What amazing taste Lucy Marr has or her at least her interior designer.  You'd have to say she has visited many-a-spa around the world as she has thought of everything. 

It wouldnt be a perfect Saturday if you had not started it with Yum Cha. Grand Harbour is regarded at the best in Auckland. It worth lining up for

  What busy little shop. We stopped on our way home for an early dinner. I got a fish burger that was definitely a great burger. The fish here is cooked in beer batter and cooked so that its golden and crunchy, Yum

Fish Fish has the best fish! Lovely and fresh and really competitively priced - even compared to supermarket prices. If you're thinking of cooking at home you can get supplies here - or if you're feeling lazy you can stay and enjoy some fresh fish prepared with love.

My flatmate had a last minute bail out of cooking dinner as planned. So up she went and got us some healthy takeaways from our local. So healthy yet I am so satisfied!

The pad Thai here I still stand by and say that it's the BEST in Auckland. The portions are huge and I struggle to get through a whole box 

A good night out on the town is not complete without a visit to the White Lady. Burgers are top notch and you tend to meet some interesting characters along the way 

I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered something Id never ordered before and now that dish will apart of my comfort zone forever.  The ravioli was unbelievable 

I have had these pizza's many times and they are still amazing. I highly recommend the mushroom and truffle oil pizza....its pretty close to pizza heaven 

I love the pizza by the slice here as they actually offer some really interesting flavour combos. Unlike some larger chain store set ups who offer no more than 5 flavours.   

Yes it's pretty cold out there these past few days. But Prego has their outside area perfectly tempered.  Loads of outdoor heaters kept it cosy enough to enjoy the fresh air!

what a buzzy restaurant. Load of diners all enjoying awesome pizzas and taking full advantage of it being BYO.  Cant wait to go back 

Cheaps as chips and the best dumplings this side of China/ My personal favorutie the pork and fennel dumplings are sensational 

Be prepared to get your elbows out. This place is so busy and always a line to get a table, you really have to watch your place in the que as there are some very pushy dumpling eaters. All of this aside, it builds to the excitement of some of the best freshly made dumplings you'll ever eat 

Once a week me and my work colleague make our pilgrimage up to Symmonds st for a cheap and cheerful take away lunch. $5 noodles cant get any better 

I love this place. Cheap and very cheerful BYO. Its always packed full due to the great food.  I got this very funny plate of rice. 

Once a week I tend to meet my girlfriends for a cheap and cheerful catch up over some food, usually a laksa or a thai stirfry. Thats the beauty of a food court really , everyone can eat to their own tastes. Im a massive fan of the malyasian there.
