Ironique, located in the heart of Mt Eden, is a unique cafe-style restaurant that serves delicious European and New Zealand food.

Despite its narrow and seemingly small interior, if you carry on through you'll find a massive courtyard out back - great for lounging over a cup of coffee or one of their hearty brunch offerings.

Delicious food, great organic fair trade coffee and the perfect place to chill out on a sunny afternoon.

I only recently figured out what they are called Ironique. The whole cafe is decorated with interesting iron sculptures, even the toilet have iron sculptures and decorations that adorn the door and interior. The food and coffee are priced well and taste great. This is a great cafe to go to if Circus Circus and Frasers are just way too packed for Sunday brunch.

Today sunday families did just that but were left to endure the cold weather with windows wide open and a temperature of 15 degress and 25 k winds. The staff would not close the windows or doors and the people were too polite to comment.

I went home and put the heater on after being in a cold cafe .

The iron part of the name is there for a reason. It's worth going there for the unique iron features, sculptures made from all things iron. There is a nice courtyard out the back so space- wise it is deceiving from the street front.
