Island Bay Beach is at the end of the City to Sea and Southern walkways and near the centre of the Taputeranga Marine Reserve, making it a gorgeous beach to visit on a summer's day.

There's also great diving and snorkelling opportunities by following the marked dive trail around the offshore reef. There is also a swim raft for kids to play on in the summer months.

Island Bay beach on a good day, is simply stunning. The view, and the sandy beach make it the perfect spot for a Kiwi picnic or BBQ (byo BBQ). Dip your toes in the water, or relax and enjoy the sunset!

    Awesome beach in Wellington! Nice to end up here after a good run or walk down through Newtown and Island Bay too

      I grew up in Island Bay so this beach is loaded with special memories for me. It was my local and I still love it.
